VETPAW Seeks Auto Sponsorship to Raise Awareness for Its African Wildlife Conservation Efforts

New York, United States - May 6, 2021 / VETPAW /

Veterans Empowered to Protect African Wildlife (VETPAW) is an organization that uses skills developed in combat to train local African rangers in the fight against illegal animal trade. They provide vital assistance to the dedicated park rangers working to combat poaching and trafficking schemes.

For example, the illegal trade of rhinoceros horns and elephant ivory fuels the senseless slaughter of hundreds of these animals daily. Unchecked poaching is rife, inevitably leading to the extinction of these species. VETPAW reviews the territory of these animals and surveys the areas they inhabit to ensure necessary protection is in place to ensure their survival.

The VETPAW Mission

Wildlife conservation is VETPAW’s primary mission. Without proper help, Black rhino, White rhino, and African elephant populations will continue to be erased.

While organizations like VETPAW work tirelessly to protect these animals, the best act of conservation is local education. By teaching and training local rangers, a web of protection may allow wildlife to thrive again. Without it, these animals might be a distant memory for future generations.

Why Organizations Like VETPAW Matter

Basic biology shows the importance of balance within delicate ecosystems. The ecological state experiences continuous imbalances through outside forces, such as human intervention. While ecosystem disturbances are not always severe, some interventions cause permanent damage that ripples through the whole environment.

Conservation efforts from groups like VETPAW help rebalance the scales in nature’s favor.

Past Conservation Efforts

VETPAW reviews and monitors endangered African wildlife populations, but it also takes steps to provide community outreach. Through projects like the Crochet Initiative and Bracelets of Hope, VETPAW members establish sustainable forms of income for local communities near VETPAW-supported reserves.

Participants acquire valuable skills from these interactions, but these communities also learn about the worth of local wildlife, tourism, and entrepreneurial potential through dedicated conservation efforts.

VETPAW Needs Your Help

Through these efforts and more, VETPAW has been a driving force in the fight to preserve endangered African animals—and their efforts are in danger.

To date, VETPAW has relied on four used Toyota Fortuner SUVs to survey habitats, respond to poaching reports, and train local rangers, but these vehicles are reaching the end of their useful life. While they were never a good fit for Africa's harsh outback to begin with, the group worked hard to preserve their functionality, driving them well past their expected lifespan.

The group is seeking donations to purchase Toyota Land Cruisers, which would serve as a long-term transportation solution. donations from dealerships,, foundations and private citizens could empower VETPAW to continue their wildlife conservation efforts for decades to come.

Make a Contribution: Protect Endangered Animals with VETPAW

Donations to VETPAW provide a firm foundation for a stronger conservation initiative. All donations to the VETPAW group go directly into protecting African wildlife through the expansion of protected areas, local ranger training, and more empowered veterans.

Every donation keeps the mission alive for another day, pushing back against illegal poaching for ivory and rhino horns, among other trade targets. VETPAW is a registered 501(c)3 located in New York, and most donations are tax-deductible. Donors receive an exclusive invitation to tour a reserve in South Africa with the VETPAW team, as well as the once-in-a-lifetime chance to name a baby elephant or rhino on a reserve.
